Volunteer With Us!

We Couldn’t Serve Without You.

Volunteers are the heart of Saturday Morning Breakfast in Mac. We offer a variety of roles so everyone can find a meaningful way to serve.

Here you’ll find the resources you need to get started, plus our volunteer benefits. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning to serve again, these resources will help you feel prepared and welcomed.

    • What if I need help at breakfast service? There will always be at least one SMB staff or board member present. You can also talk with Front-of-House or Back-of-House volunteers.

    • What if I need to cancel after signing up? Volunteers can cancel or update their sign-up information themselves. Please cancel if you cannot join us so the role can be filled prior to Saturday.

    • How old do I need to be to volunteer? All volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Volunteers under 16 years old need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and 16- and 17-year-olds can volunteer on their own with parental permission by having a parent or guardian sign the Liability Waiver located in the volunteer requirements below.

  • To remain in good standing as a volunteer and to participate in our volunteer monthly giveaways and recognition event in April, all volunteer requirements must be completed.*

    ALL VOLUNTEERS

    ROLE SPECIFIC

*Please note that the videos and forms are required to be completed each year. You’ll receive a reminder with the necessary access links one month before your renewal date.

  • We love welcoming group volunteers to help feed our community! We regularly host groups from local schools, organizations, and Saturday Sponsors, and we’re grateful for the time and care they bring to our Saturday mornings.

To ensure safety, accountability, and a smooth experience for everyone, all group volunteers must complete the same volunteer requirements as individual volunteers.

    Important Information for Group Volunteers:

    • Each volunteer must sign up individually, even when volunteering as part of a group.

    • All standard volunteer requirements listed above must be completed by every person before volunteering.

    • Individual sign-ups allow us to track attendance, prepare roles, and ensure everyone is properly cleared to serve.

    How It Works

    1. Each group member signs up for their shift individually using the link below.

    2. All required volunteer steps listed above must be completed prior to the shift.

If your group is unable to sign up individually, a group leader may submit a roster. However, every volunteer is still required to complete all standard volunteer requirements before serving.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, welcoming, and well-organized Saturday morning for our community!

Volunteer Recognition Program

At Saturday Morning Breakfast, our volunteers embody the spirit of compassion and community that keeps our mission thriving. To celebrate and honor their dedication, we’ve launched our Volunteer Recognition Program*, a new way to say thank you to the people who make our work possible. This program helps us recognize and reward volunteer contributions, encourage ongoing participation, and strengthen the sense of belonging that makes Saturday Morning Breakfast special. Thank you for making a difference, one breakfast at a time.

*To be eligible for participation in the Volunteer Recognition Program, all trainings and forms must be completed to remain in good standing.

  • “I have been amazed at how much I enjoy volunteering at the Saturday Morning Breakfast. I’m getting to know the community of people I serve with and am very impressed with how well-run the whole program is. There are many long-timers who are very dedicated to their task and happy to share that experience with new volunteers. I leave in such a good place emotionally due to all the interactions I’ve had. As I see people around town whom we serve on Saturday mornings, they are no longer name-less faces, but friends I’m getting to know and enjoy interacting with. I think anybody who comes to volunteer will be shocked at how much they receive from the experience.”

  • “Volunteering at the Saturday Morning Breakfast has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. The gratitude expressed by the individuals we serve is deeply moving, and witnessing their smiles reminds me how powerful something as simple as a warm meal can be. Knowing that, even for a moment, their day is a little brighter because of this program is truly an honor. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support our community in such a personal and impactful way.”

  • "Thanks for the opportunity to serve our neighbors a great meal. We were pleased to see how well-run the operation was: from the food to the warm clothing to the pet food and supplies, like toothbrushes and toothpaste, it was an impressive effort. We hope to participate again next year!"

  • "My husband, Pat, and I enjoyed the experience, volunteering for Saturday Morning Breakfast. It was a lot better now that they have indoor dining. I felt it was smoother than when we came last year. Diane was a big help when we first arrived. We loved working with Madge, plating on the line. She made sure we knew what was happening and how much to plate. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and helpful. Thank you for all you do!"
