Learn About Us!
Our Mission
Saturday Morning Breakfast in Mac brings people together to serve and be served—offering hot and nutritious breakfast, meaningful connection, volunteer opportunities, and pathways to stable resources that build a resilient community.
About Us
Saturday Morning Breakfast in Mac is a nonprofit community meal program located in McMinnville, Oregon. We overcome food insecurity by nourishing our community every Saturday morning from 8AM-10AM at the McMinnville Cooperative Ministries, and providing our guests with accessible resources. We welcome everyone without judgment, because we believe in connection, resilience, and belonging. Although we offer services in a church, we are not religiously-affiliated.
Our History
Saturday Morning Breakfast in Mac began more than 15 years ago when David and Delia Hammond recognized the need for a warm, dignified place for all to eat in McMinnville. Housed within McMinnville Cooperative Ministries, the program started as a restaurant-style food bank and soup kitchen, offering free meals and groceries every Saturday.
Over time, Saturday Morning Breakfast in Mac became known for providing hot, nutritious breakfasts each week, offering comfort and consistency to neighbors after a long week. Powered by volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, the program thrives through shared service and community compassion.
During Covid-19, the program adapted by offering to-go meals to continue serving safely. In 2021, Saturday Morning Breakfast in Mac became its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a dedicated Board of Directors. Today, it offers dine-in meals, free snack, hygiene, and donated items, and connections to essential resources—supported by staff, sponsors, volunteers, and local partnerships.
